This 14 km race will send you up one of the oldest trails in the Cumberland Community Forest affectionally known as "The Pig". Up and up you will go on the climbing trails SoboNo Michi which means Grandmothers' Trail. Given that our race happens the day before Mother's Day we wish all of our racing grandmothers great strength and breath climbing to the top. You will race along the logging road and keep going Up and Up Lower and Upper Climax and then you can anticipate your reward. Down, down you will race along the fast and flowy Field of Dreams. You will connect to some of our favourite weekend running trails during this event. There will be two aid stations providing water , fruit and sweets. Bring your own special energy gels and electrolyte fluid as this is a tough14 km race with lots of elevation and fast descents. The trail portion ends on the iconic Space Nugget which if just 600 meters from your finish line in No. 6 Mine Park.

Half Cumby – 14 km Full Description
From No. 6 Mine Heritage Park you will run down Derwent Ave To Sutton and enter through the yellow gate turning right up Davis Lake Main West to an old logging road, run down this old logging road to turn left on Two and a Juice, turn right on “the Pig” and turn right again onto Davis Lake Main and head left after the bridge to the lower Climbing Trail, Sobo No Michi, over the Sykes Bridge and take the Upper Climbing Trail Sobo no Michi turning left on Midway which will kick you out turning right on the logging road. Turn right on Lower Climax to Upper Climax and turn left onto the Field of Dreams, across the logging road to Blue Collar, stay right after the last bridge and head down the road and into Rock and a Hard Place. Turn left when it hits the old logging road and head for Amore, left on Double Pumper, right on Crafty Butcher, left on the logging road, right on Brat to President’s Choice, left on the Davis Lake Main East and left to Black Hole, left on No Hole, right on Kitty Litter to Space Nugget and all the way home up via Second Street, Derwent and back into No. 6 Mine Heritage Park.
